Preparations by Graphite Metal Spiral Wound Gasket Manufacturers Before Filling
Packing rings are widely used for sealing valves in industries such as petroleum, power stations, chemicals, steel plants, and more. Before preparing to install graphite packing sealing equipment, it is crucial to remove old sealing packing and inspect the packing box during the initial preparation stage for equipment sealing packing. Before installing the sealing packing, use specialized tools to remove all old sealing packing and clean the packing box.
Inspect all parts of the graphite metal spiral wound gasket standards for defects such as damage or eccentricity. Damaged valve seats, shafts, and packing boxes can all affect the sealing performance of the graphite packing. Check whether other components can still be used and replace any damaged parts. Adjust the bearings to ensure they are concentric. If they are not, adjustments or replacements are necessary. Check for vibrations in the water pump or agitator and adjust for stable operation.
When installing the packing ring device, set the graphite packing sealing rings one at a time, ensuring that each graphite packing sealing ring is free of dust or other debris. If it is necessary to apply sealing packing rings on top of the graphite packing, apply clean, smooth oil to the shaft or valve seat. When using multiple graphite packing sealing rings, install them in a staggered manner, with the cuts of each ring staggered by 90 degrees.
When installing graphite metal spiral wound gaskets, they should be gradually opened radially. The axial spacing should be such that the graphite packing sealing rings can be installed onto the shaft. Use a filling tool to tighten each graphite packing sealing ring. After sufficient graphite packing sealing rings have been installed, use a follower to seal them. Using a follower can increase the tightness level. As a supplement, the follower is only to ensure the proper positioning of all graphite packing rings and prevent their movement.
