Pure graphite and metal cannot be easily fused together without additives. Choose products from consumer enterprises with a well-established and effective quality certification system, and enterprises that have products for special equipment (pressure piping components), including a manufacturing approval certificate and valid test reports.

 

The surface of the gasket body should be free of scars, gaps, unevenness, and rust defects that could affect sealing performance. The non-metallic strips on the surface of the gasket body should have an average value slightly higher than that of the metal strips. The solid lines should be clear but should not reveal the metal strips. The spot welding intervals of the metal spiral wound gasket should be average, with no defects such as incomplete fusion or over-fusion. The surface of the reinforcing ring should be free of burrs, unevenness, rust, and other defects.
