Spiral wound gasket is one of the two most successful semi-metal gaskets in history which is invented by Flexitallic in 1912. It is formed by preformed V-shaped thin steel strip and flexible filler. This kind of structure has inherent good recovery.  It is applicable to the sealing parts with intense temperature and pressure alternation, and is the static sealing element at the flange connections of pipes, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, towers, manholes, handholes, etc.

There are four types of gaskets, which are applicable to different flange faces.

The basic type(without inner or outer ring) is suitable for Tongue and Groove flange face,

The inner ring type( with inner ring only) is suitable for Male and Female flange face,

The outer ring type( with outer ring only) and inner & outer ring type( with inner & outer ring) are suitable for raised face flange.

The thin steel stripe and flexible filler can be different materials. The most popular thin steel strips are 304 and 316L. We can also supply Monel400, Inconel625, C276, Alloy20, 32750,31803, 31254, Inconel600, Titanium etc. The most popular flexible filler are expanded graphite and PTFE.  Mica filler and non-asbestos fillers are also available.
